I wanted to shake them and their dad for not coming clean. His coming out, his game, his personality, his physicality, and his ego should have played more of a part and it wasn’t that believable. Beyond some occasional practices and games he could have been in any profession and I think that’s just not applicable. The hockey just wasn’t there enough to make me feel that was part of the story. Beyond that there were a lot of problems – for me. Share similar backgrounds (in terms of abuse) and really spark one another. From a hot, steamy romance persepective this was – on fire! The two MCs are open with each other. Love the way they narrate stories but even they couldn't keep me from discontinuing. I mean most stories have this buildup that supposed to lead our interest around up to the climax and onward to the end, but this book was just a monotonous droning from beginning to end. As I found this book extremely boring, I can't recommend it. Also I'm really not digging this big of age gap stories. I just skipped to the end and even then the epilogue was so bland I didn't finish that either. I just gave up since I didn't really give a damn what happened with either MC at this point. I went as far as CHPT 18 and nothing, absolutely nothing happened to hook my focus further. Both suffer different forms of abuse by their exes and are dealing with it differently. Both characters, though not bad, were just so bland. But is the connection between them simple chemistry? Kindred spirits? Or just a pair of lonely hearts looking for a hot distraction?Īnd even if it’s more than physical, is there really a future for two men from such vastly different worlds? Especially when the past comes knocking? One call to the cops, and suddenly Geoff and Asher’s paths cross. Behind closed doors, he’s been living in a private hell, and when he finally works up the courage to end things, his boyfriend refuses to go quietly. A stable, loving relationship with an amazing boyfriend. Seattle Snowhawks center Asher Crowe has it all. His teenagers are, well, teenagers, plus they’re pissed that he left the boyfriend they loved. He’s got war wounds and demons that are in it for the long haul.
